In September 2013, NBCC International (NBCC-I) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the African Union Southern Africa Regional Office (AU-SARO). The coauthored agreement was designed to expand African counseling and guidance services while ensuring the implementation of AU-SARO programs in Africa.
As part of this agreement, NBCC-I will maintain a desk office at AU-SARO headquarters and will collaborate with the Guidance, Counselling and Youth Development Centre for Africa to develop programs that realize the missions of all three organizations. NBCC-I was honored to host AU-SARO Senior Policy Officer Mr. Shumba Tichawona in November 2013. This was the first official visit by the African Union (AU) to NBCC headquarters.
AU-SARO, a regional branch of the AU, is located in Lilongwe, Malawi. It was founded in 2001 to foster collaborations among AU member states and organizations within the 14 countries it represents. The AU was established in 1963 to promote and integrate African economies and cultures from its headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.[Back] [Previous] [Next]
